Tom Halkitis is a multimedia artist whose work delves into the nuanced interplay between nostalgia and the emotional currents that guide and unsettle the human experience. Fusing retro tech, modern digital and photography, Halkitis crafts immersive environments that capture and reflect the fragmented nature of memory, and the effects they have on an individual.
Halkitis’ work at Studio Kura will explore the concept of Fernweh – homesickness of a place you’ve never been before. By utilising unfamiliar surroundings, combined with local equipment, he aims to inflict this untapped feeling of anticipation and reminisce into the viewers hearts.
