以下アーティストからのメッセージです。
“Steaming light moves lineally at dawn” は、私の観察をドローイングと彫刻の実践を通じて蒸留しようとする試みです。
このプロセスの出発点は、日本の建築に対する私自身の深い興味と、リカルド・ブル博士の論文「カタルーニャにおける日本趣味と建築」です。
ブル博士の研究は、日本趣味がカタルーニャに与えた影響、特に1900年代初頭の建築やインテリア空間に関するあまり知られていない側面を展開しています。
私の観察の要素は、両方の建築の共通する側面に収束しています。例えば、内外空間の関係、自然の統合、光の扱い、開口部およびその他の建築システム、素材、そして神秘性と精神性などです。
Studio Kura will host an exhibition by Spanish artist Irene Anglada, titled “Steaming light moves lineally at dawn”. The exhibition will showcase the works Irene Anglada created during her one-month residency. Admission is free. The exhibition will be held on July 27th (Saturday) and 28th (Sunday) from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. An artist talk will be held on the 27th at 2:30 PM. Please join us for this event.
Message from the Artist
“Steaming light moves lineally at dawn” is an attempt to distill my observations through the practice of drawing and sculpture.
The starting point of this process is my profound interest in Japanese architecture and Dr. Ricard Bru’s thesis, “Japanism and Architecture in Catalonia”.
Dr. Bru’s research develops a little-known aspect of the impact of Japanism in Catalonia, specifically in architecture and interior spaces from the early 1900s.
Elements of my observation converge on aspects common to both architectures, such as the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, the integration of nature, the treatment of light, openings and other construction systems, materials, and also mysticism and spirituality.
