Cathy Laudenbach (Australia) Residence: August to September, 2016
Cathy Laudenbach is an Australian photo media artist who works with various forms of the photographic medium: including film, digital and video.
She is currently completing a PhD in Photomedia. She has exhibited widely in Australia in the major photography galleries including the Centre for Contemporary Photography and the Australian Centre for Photography.
Cathy’s work has also been exhibited internationally in Japan, Germany and New Zealand. Cathy has completed numerous art residencies and has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards including receiving three Arts ACT new work grants and an Australia Council grant. Cathy won the Olive Cotton Portrait Prize in 2000. Her work is included in numerous Australian public collections.
While at the Kura Residency, Cathy will continue working with the idea of using photography to investigate more about a place than can be told just using words.
She will begin this through using experimental photographic processes through camera less photography.
Cathy received an arts grant from the ACT government to complete the residency at Studio Kura.
