Announcing Ana Popescu’s exhibition “Spaces”

We are pleased to announce an exhibition Spaces by Ana Popescu on October 26(Sat.) – 27(Sun.), as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.

Ana Popescu is a visual artist and illustrator working mainly with drawing and colours on paper. Born in Romania, grew up in France and is now based in Vienna, Austria. She studied printmaking and drawing under professor Jan Svenungsson at the University of Applied Arts, receiving her Masters of fine Arts in 2013.

« Spaces » is a series of acrylic drawings on paper that each represent a part of a visual diary made in Itoshima. It deals with the relationship between architecture and its environment in rural Japan. The use of light emphasizes the bold colours and give the series a narrative aspect. Put together they work as pieces of a puzzle, recreating a global image of the space.
