オーストリア出身のアーティスト、Veronika Beringer（ヴェロニカ・ベリンガー）は、ウィーンを拠点に活動しています。ウィーン応用美術大学で絵画とアニメーションを学びました。
彼女の制作活動は、循環的な思考に基づいており、すべてが絶えず変化し、お互いに影響し合っているという認識を持っています。この制作過程は、特にその移行的な性質で特徴づけられる水のメタファーによって表現されています。いわば、それは「メタファーのメタファー」であり、一つから別のものへの移行を示しています。素材やアイデアの循環と取り込みによって、新しい構成や蓄積が常に生まれ、他のものは染み込み消えていくのです。
日本滞在中、ヴェロニカは日本の入浴文化に関するプロジェクトに取り組んでいます。彼女のスタジオクラでのレジデンスは、オーストリア連邦文化芸術省の支援によって実現しました。
Veronika Beringer is an Austrian artist, who lives and works in Vienna. She studied painting and animation at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
Her practice is based on a cyclical way of thinking, recognizing that everything is constantly changing and building upon one another. This working process is illustrated by the metaphor of water, which is particularly characterized by its transitional nature. It is, so to speak, the metaphor of a metaphor — the passing from one into the other. Through the circulation and appropriation of material and ideas, new constellations and accumulations constantly arise where others seep away and disappear.
During her stay in Japan Veronika is working on a project about Japanese bathing culture. Her residency at Studio Kura was kindly supported by the Federal Ministry Republic of Austria for Arts and Culture.
