Grace O’Leary (1997) is an emerging visual artist based in Dublin, Ireland. Working primarily with analogue photographic processes her work evokes notions of light, time, memory and place. Collaborating with natural light and time she allows for failure and chance to become an active part of the work often mimicking similar tropes which occur within our otherwise considered and planned urban landscapes.
Further exploring intimate and personal emotions which arise from referents that are embedded in the landscape, Grace is often drawn to investigating modern ruins and vacant spaces. Revelling in the parameters of the photographic medium she tends to push the work through a similar lens – between negative and positive, utopian and dystopian, darkness and light, conjuring poetic contemplations of the worlds in which we do/and have potential to inhabit.
