韓国出身のジョン・ジェヨル（Jae Youl Jeoung）は1992年生まれで、2011年から2012年にかけてロンドンのセントラル・セント・マーチンズで美術（ファウンデーション・ディプロマ）を学び、その後2018年にチェルシー・カレッジ・オブ・アーツで美術の学士号を取得しました。現在は、福岡県のスタジオ・クラでアーティスト・イン・レジデンスとして活動しています。
彼は、さまざまな環境や状況に基づいて、サイトスペシフィックな作品制作を続けています。彼が行うすべての行動は、インスタレーション、オブジェクト、彫刻、写真、テキストに対応するように振る舞います。これらの主題は、私たちの日常生活からの日常的なイメージ、人生の現在または自分自身の記憶を詩的に再解釈して表しています。
これらの主題は、記憶の一角を引き起こし、換気します。彼自身が生み出した無形または見えない要素やオブジェクトが存在します。これらが視覚的には示されなくても、彼の作品は物語に変換される姿勢を持っています。このプロジェクトの基盤は、多様性が必要なことです。彼は、弁証法を通じて時間と空間を分類する代わりに、象徴的な言語を用いて、現在の日常生活で起こる無数の物質的でない要素に関心を抱いています。スタジオ・クラに滞在しながら何が起こるかをアーカイブ化し、提示することが考えられています。すべての物体や主題は、過去の記憶を再構築して現在の形で新しいイメージや言語に変換することができます。
Jae Youl Jeoung (b. 1992, South Korea) studied at Central Saint Martins inLondon, Fine Art(Foundation Diploma), From 2011 to 2012. And hegraduated BA Fine Art in Chelsea College of Arts London (2018). Currently,artist in residency at Studio Kura in Fukuoka, Japan.
He has been continuinghis practices based on site-specifically in the various environments andconditions. All the actions he does behave to correspond to installation,object, sculpture, photography, and text. It shows the work poeticallyreinterpreting everyday images from our daily life, the present of life or ownpersonal memories. These subject matters are continuously evoking andventilating a corner of memories. Intangible or invisible elements or objectsderived from him. Even if these are not shown in visual, his work has anattitude to being transformed into a story.
The foundation of the project being considered which requires diversity ofculture. Instead of classifying time and space through dialectics, he concernsthe numerous immaterial elements that occur in current and daily lifethrough his symbolic language. It will be archived and presented whathappens while staying in Studio Kura. Every objects and subjects can bereencountered and reconstructed the past memories that transform into anew images and languages in the present form.
