Lauren Prousky is an interdisciplinary artist, writer and curator based in Ontario, Canada. Her artwork spans a variety of topics and mediums and she’s usually bouncing between a few different projects at once. In general, Lauren’s work is an effort to communicate interconnected narratives through the language of collections and repetition. She is interested in the power of multitudes and accumulation, specifically, how stuff deemed “extra” moves, seeps, trickles, multiplies, organizes, rebels, conforms, shrinks or expands within an established environment.
At Studio Kura, Lauren plans to use research into primordial soup theory as a frame in which to consider cultural connotations to soup, imaginal cells and the randomness of existence. Eventually, she plans to distill all that into a series of sculptures, drawings and writing.
