Lorraine Mimnagh

Lorraine is a contemporary Irish landscape artist and arts educator. She has over 20 year’s experience in art education. She is currently teaching fulltime in a secondary/high school in Co. Westmeath. Ireland.  Teaching art is something she is very passionate about. She continues to develop her own professional  arts practice when she is not teaching her students.

Lorraine was awarded a two week Artist Bursary in 2004 at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre Co. Monaghan, by Westmeath County Council. (Arts Act Grant) www.tyroneguthricentre.ie  

Since then she has been awarded several arts grants through Westmeath Arts office to continue to develop her work as an artist. She has has several solo and group exhibitions over the years with many works going to private collectors. She has also been back to the Tyrone Guthrie Centre  Artist Residency program many times and most recently in 2018.

In 2021 she was awarded an art grant for the Artists in residence program Studio Kura,Itoshima, Japan. She is currently at Studio Kara for June to July 2022.

Currently Lorraine has had two works chosen for a publication’ The Artist Eye on Galway’ this book will be published in July 2022. www.artisteyeongalway.ie
