Maya Hendricksは、インドのムンバイ出身で、ニューヨークを拠点に活動する俳優でありアーティストである。水彩画とグアッシュで描かれる彼女のシュールレアリズムは、植物の生命を怪物のような質感で表現しています。障子紙にミックスして描かれています。最近、デジタルドローイングにも取り組み始めました。スタジオクラの周りの植物や動物をじっくり観察し、福岡にインスパイアされた小さな森を作りたいと考えているそうです。
“Maya Hendricks is a New York based actor and artist from Mumbai, India. Her surrealist watercolor and gouache paintings depict the lives of plants, with monster like qualities to them. She uses mixed on shoji paper. Maya has recently begun working on digital drawings as well. She plans to study the plant and animal life around Studio Kura very careful and create a little forest of her own inspired by Fukuoka.”
