Rebecca Merlic

Rebecca Merlic *1989 (HR/AT/DE) is an European digital Artist, architect, experimental filmmaker and university assistant in the core team of Experimental Game Cultures at the University of applied Arts Vienna. Her work is strongly influenced by alternative ways of society and transgression in socioeconomic conventions as well as new forms of artistic and architectural production employing new technologies. During her masters she was able to study at Astushi KITAGAWARA Lab at Tokyo University of the Arts GEIDAI. She is the holder of the Marianne von Willemer Prize 2020 for digital media. Her interactive game show TheCityAsAHouse 都市が家になるとき  was on display at, ARS ELECTRONICA, at Athens Digital Arts Festival, The International Media Art Festival CYFEST : COSMOS and CHAOS in St.Petersbourg and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tokyo.

Currently she is a transdisciplinary resident at European Alliance of Academies: Ignorance is Strength AIR program and she is working on DigitalHumanism x FutureLiving in collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tokyo.
