We are pleased to announce an exhibition “Bridge of Magpies” by Kitty Harris October 24(Sat.) & 25(Sun.), as a result of hier activity during her stay at Studio Kura.
Kitty Harris is an illustrator from London. She received a distinction in her MA in Illustration from the University of the Arts London in 2019 and has been living in Tokyo since January 2020.
She combines digital drawing with traditional materials such as gouache and coloured pencils to create her work. Her illustrations are primarily aimed at children, often exploring the real and imagined relationship between children and animals to create gentle and cosy scenes.
In ‘Bridge of Magpies’ Kitty has taken inspiration from traditional Japanese folktales and mythology and produced a series of illustrations that put storytelling at the heart of the artwork. She has used gouache paint and coloured pencil to depict scenes of magic and fantasy from ancient Japan.
