Samantha Lee Curran（サマンサ・リー・カラン）はオーストラリア・ブルー マウンテンズ出身のアーティスト兼ライターです。詩作をバックグラウンドに持つ彼女は、見つけた古布に刺繍を施し、言葉を視覚芸術へと昇華させています。Studio Kura滞在中は、衣服をキャンバスに「人に知られたくないことまで洗いざらい晒す」という〈airing dirty laundry〉の概念を遊び心たっぷりに探求し、刺繍詩のシリーズを制作予定です。また、日本での生活とStudio Kuraの環境から得たインスピレーションを糧に、刺繍以外のさまざまなメディウムにも挑戦します。
Samantha Lee Curran is an artist and writer from the Blue Mountains, Australia. With a background in poetry, Samantha turns poetry into visual art by using embroidery on found textiles. During her time at Studio Kura, Samantha is working on a series of embroidered poetry using garments to play with the concept of ‘airing dirty laundry’. She will also be dabbling in other mediums while here, inspired by the surrounds of Studio Kura and her time in Japan.
