Announcing Serena Della Bona’s Exhibition “Essenza dei luoghi”

We are pleased to announce an exhibition Essenza dei luoghi by Serena Della Bona on May 26 (Sat) & 27 (Sun), as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.

Serena Della Bona graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.
Her journey in the world of art it’s made of research and experimentation of all kinds, in fact, to carry out her work the artist uses different materials and techniques. Not only painting but also sculpture and installations, in order to communicate a message, a state of mind, a fantasy. She teaches artistic workshops (illustration and painting techniques) open to people of all ages. Serena’s work has been showcased in various places in Italy and internationally. In 2018 her first illustration books are published.

Here are some words from the artist herself.

The installation consists of a collection of objects, watercolors and travel notes.
The artworks are made with different materials, inspired by the places I have visited during my stay in Japan. The fantasy characters are born from the observation of naturalistic landscapes. Among the travel notes there are also other landscapes, differing from the naturalistic ones; the city, countryside, ocean and the woods.

* We will hold an exhibition opening party and an artist talk on 26th (Sat), starting at 15:30.

During my residency at Studio Kura, I want to create small watercolors of landscapes of Itoshima and than choose the shapes that most affect my attention and use acrylic paint on 4 large fabrics, close to my work I will leave a small white notebook and I will invite the public to write “something” their thinking about my work, or a sketch or simply their name, a memory of their passage.

Serena Della Bona Neang participated in the artist in residency program at Studio Kura in February 2017 and artist in residency program at Moriumius lusail in October November 2017.

We are pleased to announce an exhibition The first story by Serena Della Bona, as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura on February 25 (Sat) & 26 (Sun).

Serena Della Bona is specialized in painting and drawing, with a degree in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. She has participated in various travelling exhibitions in Italy.
Over the years, her work has taken several roads, always experimented with various materials and various painting techniques, recurring subjects are naturalistic. In the last few years she introduced characters related in Japanese culture because she is very fascinated by everything about this world. The concept is important to let the change take place, the influence of life is reflected in the work, this is in constantly Evolution (This year, I plan to publish my first narrative and figurative book about fantasy story).

Serena Della Bona (Italy) Residence: February 2017

Serena Della Bona is specialized in painting and drawing, with a degree in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. She has participated in various travelling exhibitions in Italy.

Over the years, her work has taken several roads, always experimented with various materials and various painting techniques, recurring subjects are naturalistic. In the last few years she introduced characters related in Japanese culture because she is very fascinated by everything about this world. The concept is important to let the change take place, the influence of life is reflected in the work, this is in constantly Evolution (This year, I plan to publish my first narrative and figurative book about fantasy story).

Fukuoka is rich in tradition and ties with nature, it is important to explore with eyes and listen to stories related to this people, she wants to enter this atmosphere for to be able to externalize the figurative and narrative work.
