Announcing Ali Hanoon and Vidya Andarikha’s Double Exhibition

Spanish photographer Ali Hanoon and Indonesian digital artist Vidya Andarikha’s work will be shown at Studio Kura Gallery from this weekend. Both artists have been staying at Studio Kura since the beginning of September, taking part in our artist in residence program.

The fruits of Ali Hanoon’s work this month have been titled Itoshima to Nokonoshima, and Vidya Andarikha (3dsense Studio Kura Award) titled her work Spirits of Nature.

Ali, about his work:

The project focuses on making many individual portraits to show ways of life on the surroundings of Itoshima and to set up my own experience about the place. The most important point to me is to let the people show themselves, highlighting the nuances and subtleties of each. My choice of people to photograph is influenced by a personal feeling, more subjective or sensitive, something that is sensed in the body language, the gaze or something that is just intangible.

Vidya, about her work:

Do you know that there might be cute bubbly ones smiling at you when you water your gardens?
