Announcing Ebony Ibrahim’s Exhibition “Connected”

We are pleased to announce an exhibition Connected by Ebony Ibrahim on June 23 (Sat) & 24 (Sun), as a result of her activity during her stay at Studio Kura.

Ebony Ibrahim is an animator and multimedia artist. She’s a student studying 3D animation at Pratt Institute. She’s currently working on her senior project film that’s anticipated to be finished by April 2019.
Her work explores nostalgic memories one may have connected to certain places they have visited. She also explores themes in modern culture and ways of expressing them through different animation styles and media.

Here are some words from the artist herself.

In Japan, I’ve noticed many people try to maintain a balanced lifestyle as well as keeping a close connection to people within their community. A busy work day can be counterbalanced by hanging out with friends, old traditions and nature are woven within the modern society, sweet food is tamed with salty, etc. With my work, I hope to show these balances and connections that one may experience during their visit.
