Karina Nyssは、イギリスのヘイスティングス出身のアーティスト/イラストレーターです。 私がStudio Kuraで過ごす間、糸島を探索し、ミックスメディアのスケッチや写真を使って旅行を記録していきます。 私は、自然の色や形を強調し、自然な構図に見られる非対称なバランスを際立たせる、鮮やかで活気あふれる作品を創作するのが好きです。 アートカウンシルの助成金の支援のおかげで、現在私は自分の技術にもっと時間を割くことができ、新しいインスピレーションの源を見つけています。日本の自然の美しさに囲まれて、鮮やかな風景や植物、人々からインスピレーションを受けることにとても興奮しています。 屋外で現場でスケッチを作成することや、素早く作業することがもたらす挑戦を楽しみにしています。さまざまな技法やスタイルを試し、自分の快適な範囲を超えて、訪れた場所の魂を捉えることを楽しみにしています。 全体として、私は創造的な実践を発展させ、アーティストとしての視野を広げるこの機会に感謝しています。この旅が私をどこに連れて行ってくれるのか楽しみにしています！
Karina Nyss is an Artist/Illustrator from Hastings, U.K:
During my time at Studio Kura, I will be exploring Itoshima and documenting my travels through mixed media sketches and photography.
I enjoy creating bold and vibrant work that amplifies the colors and shapes of nature, while also emphasizing the asymmetrical balances found in natural compositions.
Thanks in part to the support of an Arts Council grant, I am currently dedicating more time to my craft and discovering new sources of inspiration. I’m thrilled to be immersed in the natural beauty of Japan, drawing inspiration from the vibrant landscapes, flora, and people that surround me.
I’m eager to be creating sketches outside on location and seeing what the challenge of working quickly will bring. I’m looking forward to experimenting with different techniques and styles, pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, and capturing the spirit of the places I visit.
Overall, I’m grateful for the opportunity to develop my creative practice and expand my horizons as an artist. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!
