Elisha Wang is an interdisciplinary artist born and raised in China, who is now based in Vancouver Canada, within the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Her artistic practice encompasses a profound exploration of themes such as identity, self-expression, and the intricate dimensions of perception through the lenses of space and time. At present, Wang’s artistic practice predominantly revolves around the creation of mixed media drawings, textual compositions, and film photography. In addition to her creative pursuits, Wang also works as an interior designer.
As she embarks on her residency at Studio Kura, Wang anticipates immersing herself in the local environment. She is particularly excited about forging deep connections with the natural landscapes, as this element will play a central role in her artistic pursuits during her time there.
