Holly Granken is a photographer and printmaker based in Canada. Her likes and influences include; Japan/Japanese culture and language, nature/animals, vintage/retro design and fashion, tattoos, travel, coffee/food, and weird/spooky stuff. She has participated in a number of exhibitions in Canada, has won awards for her work, and has had work featured in several publications.
Lately she has been experimenting with embroidery, as well as sourcing ways to incorporate natural elements into her work through flower pounding. While at Studio Kura, she will be completing an idea for a piece that has been rolling around in her head for years, just waiting for the right time and place to come together. By combining printmaking, flower pounding, and embroidery, it will tell a story of mythology, nature, life and death.
