We are pleased to announce an exhibition “Views of Itoshima” by Seb Agresti on June 27(Sat.) & 28(Sun.), as a result of his activity during his stay at Studio Kura.
Seb Agresti is an illustrator and designer. He has worked for clients such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, Apple, Google and many others. He lives and works in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Views of Itoshima is Seb’s first personal project in two years and consists solely of land and cityscapes located in Itoshima.Inspired by Japanese visual culture from a young age and with a love for classical Ukiyo-e prints and modern Japanese graphic design, Seb set out to absorb these local influences and to absorb them into his own unique visual style. The result is a series of landscapes with the distinct color palette of the city of Itoshima and the use of a flat and graphic perspective as often seen in Classical Japanese artworks.
