Mo is a multimedia artist from Baltimore, Maryland. Their body of work is heavily influenced by decorative or practical folk art, as well as rural American aesthetics from their childhood. Mo utilizes the presence of symbols, icons, and text- creating haphazard bright paintings, multilayered drawings, and multimedia stop motion animations. As a fiction writer, Mo tells whimiscal short stories that toe the line between the whimsical and the macabre. Celebrating childhood while mourning its end is a task that drives both thier visual and written work. During their time at Studio Kura they are developing a series of drawings to accompany original stories and poetry.
