Caroline Hamann ( @linlenlinlen ) has been working in Animation for almost twenty years. She completed a BA (Hons) in Drawing at Camberwell College of Arts, London, in 2004 and then went on to work as a Stop-motion Animator and Storyboard Artist for feature films (eg. Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, Betongold, Johnny & Me), TV Series (eg. Postman Pat, Dragon, Sandmännchen) and short films (PAWO, ‘B’).
Her most recent short Animation, CRISS CROSS, co-directed by Fritz Penzlin, was screened at over 50 Festivals worldwide and has won numerous awards.
During her two-month residency at Studio Kura, she will begin her next short animated film, which is being funded by the German Ministry for Culture. This will be a 2D Animation about family, love and resilience for an audience of eight years or older. Caroline will draw this new film frame by frame, pausing from time to time to make drawings of Itoshima and beyond.
