Marco Sebastiano Alessi is an Italian music producer, record label owner, and writer. He’s the founder of Naviar Records, a music community and label exploring the connection between experimental electronic music and traditional Japanese poetry.
Marco’s artistic interest lies in the intersection between art forms and in the importance of sounds as a chronicle of everyday life. Since he started Naviar in 2014, Marco has strived to highlight the importance of leading a creative life through music-making by offering a creative digital space accessible to anyone. The Naviar haiku challenge, which invites musicians to make music in response to a weekly assigned haiku poem, is home to more than a hundred artists worldwide and has inspired thousands of compositions so far.
Throughout the years, Naviar has hosted events in Europe, the UK, and Australia. It has a weekly radio show on Resonance Extra, and its publications have been praised by iconic music magazines such as Electronic Sound, Sound of Life, Cyclic Defrost, and more.
As an artist, Marco is the drummer of the psychedelic rock band Aktopasa and produces electroacoustic music under the moniker Cryxuss, a project he uses to experiment with and combine field recordings and ambient textures to depict local soundscapes.
