アン・レネハンは出版者であり、写真を撮るだけでなく、書き物をし、見つけた場所固有の素材を取り入れた手作りの本の形を作ります。彼女は、記憶、想像力、特定の自然環境に対する共同的でつながった反応の可能性とそれが地域の物語、物語（超自然的な話を含む）や信念を形作り形成する手段として、限界空間や遠隔の風景に興味を持っています。スタジオクラでの滞在中、彼女は岩、神社、木、水、山に関連した一連の研究と手作りの本の形を作ることで、特定の風景（建造されたものと自然なもの）と九州/糸島の性質が芸術的プロセスに与える影響を探求しています。これは元々、ラフカディオ・ハーンが日本語から翻訳した『怪談: 奇妙なことの物語と研究』（ボストン・ニューヨーク：ホートン・ミフリン、1904年）に触発されました。

Anne Renahan is a publisher, who also takes pictures, writes and makes hand-made book
forms that incorporate found, site-specific materials. She is interested in liminal spaces and
remote landscapes as a means of exploring ideas related to memory, imagination and the
possibility of communal and connected responses to specific natural environments, and
which shape and form local narratives, stories (including supernatural tales) and beliefs.
While at Studio Kura, she is exploring the impact of the specific landscape (built and natural)
and nature of Itoshima/Kyushu on the artistic process by making a series of studies and
hand-made book forms related to rocks, shrines, trees, water and mountains, originally
inspired by Lafcadio Hearns’ translation from the Japanese: Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of
Strange Things (Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin, 1904).
