ルイーズ・クロンプトンは、クイーンズランド工科大学で美術学士の最終年に在籍しているオーストラリアの視覚芸術家です。彼女の実践は、人生と人々に対する発展途上の視点を探求することを目指しています。彼女は、絵画と写真の媒体を通じて、自分が交流する環境の中で人々、植物、物体、動物の相互接続された生活を探求しています。
スタジオ・クラでの滞在中、彼女の実践は、地元の日本文化、植物相と動物相、インフラストラクチャーとの経験に焦点を当てています。これを探求することにより、オーストラリア人としての自身の国籍を反映し、その視点が日本での生活体験にどのように翻訳されるかについて考察することを目指しています。
Louise Crompton is an Australian visual artist in her final year of a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Queensland University of Technology.
Her practice aims to explore her developing perspectives on life and people. Through the mediums of paint and photography she explores the interconnected lives of people, plants, objects and animals in the environments she interacts with.
During her stay at Studio Kura her practice is focused around experiences with the local Japanese culture, flora and fauna and infrastructure. In exploring this, she aims to reflect on her own nationality as an Australian and how this perspective translates to her experience of life in Japan.
