She is an assistant professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. We are thinking about having her do a talk about her art work, her teaching work. We are sure she will have a lot of interesting things to say! As always, the studio is open while she is at work so feel free to visit.
On July 20th, Christopher Jones gave his workshop Drawing Big Time. It was about transforming the space through three dimensional drawing.
Hi! This is Ale.
We all love drawing, but have you ever wanted to go beyond the paper? Wouldn’t you like to draw on a large, three dimensional space?
I’m happy to announce this workshop by Chris Jones, a lecturer at Newscastle University’s School of Arts & Cultures. Chris’s workshop will result in a collaborative drawing that will change the space. We will use a variety of tapes to form lines through the space, making large 3D drawings.
The workshop took place at a traditional Japanese house, so everybody felt relaxed and concentrated easily.
We are proud to announce an exhibition by Paul Nicholson, currently in residence at Studio Kura. The exhibition’s name is “It’s…Product, Yes!!” and in it he will show the result of his residence program. Paul is an animator based in London, and his works include The Amazing World of Gumball and Scooby Doo.
The works to be shown include drawings produced during his residence period, exploring the role of characters in Japanese advertising.
