Hello, How are you, everyone?
this is TAKUYA KUSU, one of staff at STUDIO KURA.
I am experiencing my first winter in ITOSHIMA…
I am from NOGATA, and Winter here is colder than where i am from.
I can not take off my scarf every day.
Well, today i would like to share the experience of making JAPANESE PAPER.
Current residence Mel, is from Macau, requests to do JAPANESE PAPER MAKING.
Well, why not!!!
SO, I and MIYAMOTO teacher(One of STUDIO KURA STAFF) including MEL, went to a studio「MEISHI KOBO MATSUO」in ONOJYO CITY, FUKUOKA.
A studio is open very quietly, where is surrounding by lots of houses.
Who will miss out this such a nice wood sign.
Even though we made a booking with such a short notice, he arranged it for us!!!
We are so appreciated his kindness.
The Owner is Masami Matsuo and his family owns also one of the famous Japanese paper studio in YAME.
We all could feel his enthusiasm for Japanese paper!
Normally, he design post card and business card by order with JAPANESE paper and make them.
Well, i am thinking of ordering my business card to him!!!!!!
I am serious, though!!!
I think Japanese paper’s business card is SO COOOOOOOOL.
And also we are both excited while exchanging the cards each other.
The paper craft can be used as a plant plate.
Its shape and texture are awesome!!
I could see the endless possibility in Japanese paper.
Yes, the workshop started. Listen carefully~, everyone!
Mel is studying about print art and she wanted to experience to make the paper from the start.
We would like her to have some inspiration from this experience!!!
anyway, we’re glad that she enjoyed!
MISSION IS COMPLETED!
We could enjoy making our own paper!
Hi, CHEEZE!
Thank you for the coffee and snacks, Mr. MATSUO.
It was such a wonderful experience for all of us.
Well, Now I am looking forward to seeing Mel’s exhibition.
How she is going to input her experience into her work.
Well, let’s see….
Once the exhibition date is set, I will announce you!!!!!!
SEE YOU THEN!
and THANK YOU FOR READING!!
