I am an Australian visual artist from Jaara Country in Victoria. In my artistic practice, I find myself responding to my current situation and the visually rich environment with a blend of analytical thought and playful imagination. I employ these elements to construct whimsical and idiosyncratic symbols that encapsulate my unique perspective. Drawing inspiration from the formal language of commercial and informationgraphics, I then incorporate autobiographical themes into my work. The resulting artworks appear impersonal or utilitarian at first glance but harbour a personal expression upon closer examination.
During my residency at Studio Kura, I will research the Japanese concept of ‘wabi-sabi’ and liminal aesthetics to gain a deeper understanding of their relationship. This will involve exploring the beauty of imperfection and liminal spaces within the landscape and urban
